Questions about the split
Answered honestly.
Is this a subscription?
No. Pro is a perpetual license: one payment, yours forever, with minor updates guaranteed for a year. Renting your own camera settings back to you, month after month, is a business model we refuse to run.
What does Pro add?
Pro adds cinematic zoom, local transcription and subtitles, and timed or speech-following speaker notes. The free core keeps streaming, recording, the virtual camera, and its existing composition features — including existing zoom.
Is the free version crippled?
No. Every core composition feature — all layouts, backgrounds, overlays, annotations, privacy states, the floating preview — is in the free core with no time limit and no watermark on recordings.
What happens after the update year?
Your license keeps working. You keep using the version you have, forever, on any machine you own. If a future release excites you, a new license buys another year of updates — but nothing stops working if you pass.
